#one of the best parts of the whole film

I’m a teacher in Mexico. And I see how kids play this days. I loved this part because I could connect to Haymitch. The way his face says it all. How sick is it that kids are playing killers? And they’re parents are laughing like it’s the cutest thing ever. Well, let’s take a look to reality. There’s a lot of kids here who say they want to become serial killers when they grow up. Sadly, all we hear about daily in the news is how people is killed, and lately they say it like it’s the weather. “Today in the morning they found 15 dead bodies tortured and burned right next to a road. The heads are nowhere to be found. In other news, there’s a new TV show starting tonight!” Also, the serial killers, called “sicarios” here, are poor people trained and payed by narcotraficants (important and illegal drug dealers). So kids are watching how their parents go from poor and unemployed to rich by just killing people. So, they play just like the Capitol kids, to kill each other. And they can’t wait to become a real one. Because death means nothing to them anymore. That’s why I loved the books. Because it shows a lot of political and social issues we have today. And it leave you thinking, what the hell are we doing?
